Descriptions:

ConfirmationSundays February 4th, 11th, and 25th – Our Confirmation program has begun and it’s started off really well. The youth have brought some amazing questions that we will explore over the course of the next few months. Also we’ll be incorporating mentors and retreat! Talk to Josh if you’d like to know more.

High School Profound Movie ViewingSunday February 4th – 1-3pm – Our high school youth continue their movie viewing habits. This month they get to vote on what to view. What’s a movie that’ll spark some conversation?

Youth CollectiveSunday February 11th and Tuesday February 13th – Waverly Heights Congregational Church (3300 SE Woodward St, Portland, OR 97202) – We are continuing our 2018 goal of having each of the different Youth Collective partner churches host events. So this month is Waverly Heights. If you need a ride to these events please contact Josh!

Wall of Giving FundraiserSundays February 18th, 25th, & March 4th – Our biggest fundraiser of the year returns! Help our youth raise funds for their 2018 summer mission projects (High School Caravan Trip and Middle School City Camp). All youth planning to attend the summer mission projects are expected to be at and help with this fundraiser.

Night Strike Voluntee ProjectThursday February 22nd – 6:30-10pm – downtown under the Burnside Bridge – Come volunteer serving a meal and providing services to the homeless population in downtown Portland. This event is co-sponsored by our friends in the Youth Collective.

Oregon’s Civil Rights History ExhibitSunday February 25th – 1-3pm – Oregon Historical Society (1200 SW Park Ave, Portland, OR 97205) – Come as our youth visit the “Racing to Change: Oregon’s Civil Rights Years” exhibit at the Oregon Historical Society. We’ll go through the exhibit and then get coffee and discuss the experience. This event is co-sponsored by our friends in the Youth Collective.

Youth Together 2018 – High School Justice RetreatFriday March 16 – Sunday March 18 – Camp Magruder in Rockaway Beach, Oregon – This is our third year attending the ecumenical youth spring justice retreat and this year is expected to be even bigger than the last two! Come for an amazing experience and talk about issues of justice from a faith context! If you register by the early registration date of February 18th it’s only $50. After that it goes up to $100. High School Caravan TripSaturday June 23rd to Saturday June 30th – San Francisco, CAClick this link for more information about the trip. If you are interested in attending the 2018 High School Caravan Trip, please fill out this registration form (click here) and submit at $100 deposit by Sunday February 25th.

Middle School City Camp Sunday July 29 – Friday August 3 – Information Meeting on February 6th from 6:30-7pm – The dates are finally set and our annual middle school week of service and fun will be happening July 29-August 3rd. Come to our rescheduled information meeting on Tuesday February 6th from 6:30-7pm. All parents/guardians and youth (6th-8th grade) are invited to this meeting to find out what is really it’s all about! If you are unable to make the meeting and want to know more, please contact Josh.
