Moreland Presbyterian Church is hiring a part-time summer intern (from June 4th-September 3rd, 2017) to provide leadership and assistance in the Youth Program. LOGOS Dinner Tuesday evenings at 6 p.m. – If you are planning to come to LOGOS Dinner before Youth Group on Tuesday evenings, please RSVP with Josh (click here to email him) by the Monday before so the LOGOS cooks know how many people to prepare for. Thanks!

Youth Wall of Giving FundraiserSundays February 5th, 12th, and 19th during Coffee Hour following Worship – Our youth are once again fundraising for our summer mission projects (High School Caravan Trip and Middle School City Camp). This is one of major fundraisers so any youth planning to attend the summer trips are required to help with this event.

Middle School Snow DayMonday February 20th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Mt. Hood Ski Bowl Adventure Park – The middle school youth will be heading up the mountain to find out who is the best innertuber in the land. Wear gear for the snow and bring a lunch (or lunch money). This event costs $15/person. Talk to Josh for more info. Click here to register.

Middle School Southeast Youth CollectiveTuesday February 28th from 6:30 to 8 p.m. – TaborSpace  – Meet at Moreland Pres at 6 p.m. to carpool to TaborSpace, and we’ll return to the church by 8:30pm – We’ll be gathering with middle school youth from 4 other churches to do some MEGA youth group activities. Come for games and conversations with kids from around the whole Portland area! Oh yeah, and there will be pizza!

All Middle School youth and their parent(s)/guardian(s) are asked to sign a covenant form to attend Middle School Youth Group. Please download, sign, and return this form (click here) if you have not already done so.

Potluck in the Park Service ProjectSunday February 5th from 3 to 6:30 p.m. at O’Bryant Square in downtown Portland – Our High School youth will be join the SE Portland Youth Collective to provide assistance (via cleanup and tear down) to those serving a meal with Potluck in the Park in downtown Portland.

High School Southeast Youth CollectiveSunday February 19th from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. – Sunnyside Community House (3520 SE Yamhill St, Portland, OR 97214) – Our final Youth Collective before the retreat, is Sunday February 19th, and we’ll have a chance to engage young adults from around the world who will be sharing their stories of life in places very different from our own. Come for an amazing experience of food, fellowship, and faith.

High School Deep Movie Night – Sunday February 26th from 6:30 to 9 p.m. – This month our youth will choose between 3 different movies to watch at our Deep Movie Night: Gattaca, God’s Not Dead, or Hidden Figures. Click here to vote for your choice.

High School Youth Collective RetreatFriday March 3rd to Sunday March 5th – Camp Adams in Mollala, Oregon – The culmination of our High School Youth Collective activities is to enjoy a retreat together led by the amazing multi-cultural musicians and leaders that led our Spring Retreat last year. The early registration deadline is Sunday February 12th. Signup by then and the retreat is only $50/person (saving $50!). Youth Group Serves at Doreen’s Place – Friday January 13th from 5 to 9 p.m. – Meet at Moreland Pres to cook and then head to Doreen’s Place at the Bud Clark Commons to serve – Our annual January tradition of serving a meal to the homeless downtown, will continue as our youth work to make a meal and serve it at Doreen’s Place at the Bud Clark Commons. FYI, parent/adult head cooks, shopper(s), and chaperones/drivers are needed for this event. Contact Josh if you can help out.

Middle School Youth Collective – Starting in February our middle school youth will be given the opportunity to gather with youth from 5 other churches in the SE Portland area. This group will focus on building relationships across denominations and across communities. It will be a lot of fun and look to your emails as more info comes out about these gatherings.

Event Highlights:

High School Southeast Youth Collectivecontinues on Sundays January 8th, 22nd, February 5th, and 19th from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. – Sunnyside Community House (3520 SE Yamhill St, Portland, OR 97214) – Over the past few months (since the Spring High School Justice Retreat) Josh has been working with a group of pastors/youth workers in the SE area of Portland on providing an ecumenical (multi-church), inclusive, justice-oriented space for youth. This group continues in January and February with a retreat in March. If you have any questions regarding this exciting new endeavor please feel free to talk to Josh.
